do tilt and non-tilt steering columns interchange? do steering columns in automatics work in manual transmissions?

The steering columns do interchange. The only difference is that the automatic column has a cable that must be removed that prevents the key from being taken out of the ignition in the automatics unless the transmission is in PARK. Remove the cable and you should be fine. (I've converted my automatic column to manual on my project car).
