What is the most common problem turning the exhaust manifolds glowing red in a short period of running time,? had the problem in a previous Fiero but don't remember what caused it or how I fixed it. Just did an engine swap and have not driven the car yet.Does the computer reset? Cat? Timing? EGR? Help!!

might be your o2 sensors I had that happen in my truck they where backwards and just sitting in the driveway running they got cherry red. When my truck got fixed they put the wires on backwards. once that was fixed all better.

A big vacuum leak that's causing a lean condition. I ran into this on a previous build. My leak was the breather tube under the throttle body neck of the upper intake.

I've searched here and many other forums, as well as the general internet, and none of the resulting matches seem to be able to descirbe what might be wrong with the problem I'm having. Not sure about the OP, but the behavior on my 2.8 with the insane EGTs I'm seeing aren't easily explainable by any of these.
