My car made the first two categories but not the (ppm) egr. The max is 799 at 15 mph ( I got a 983) and for 25mph, max is 738 and I got a 853. I'm thinking since the valve is somewhat new and the car was throwing codes for that but how common is the vacuum solenoid to cause this.

It's a 3.4 pr..... Visually they didn't know

Code 32 indicates a problem in the EGR control solenoid. It does not indicate a problem with the EGR valve.

Yep kinda common. Here's a link about how to fix it (hopefully)

Check all the rubber fittings where they connect the hardlines to the vacuum ports on the "hardware".

If there is still an issue, back off your timing as much as allowable.
Run premium fuel or dump in a half gallon of Coleman fuel.

Do a search on "NOx". There are lots of threads and nearly as many gimmics.

Thanks for the insights... Yeah California can go somewhere with their smog laws... But That's why I did the 3.4 swap instead of the other possibilities. I think I've seen that link before and thanks for the reminder. I went to the local junk yard to find a second solenoid too and I was in luck but it was still throwing a code of 32. I took mine apart but not thoroughly. I didn't get the surrounding off to inspect the coil and such. I think that I'll search and invest in a new one. Last time I checked, my timing was around the 9-10 mark.

Go to the CA BAR website and apply for repair assistance. It took me 15 minutes and I got $500 towards the repair of my 87GT to get it to pass CA SMOG. The state bought me a new EGR solenoid! I believe it is www.smogcheck.ca.gov
