i just did a search and didnt quite find the answer i wanted for my 88gt/ its a 5speed but i dont know if its getrag or ?? how can i tell ?

anyhow i already know to use gm syncromesh but does my 5 speed fill through the dipstick? because i dont see any bolt on the side.... the bottom plug is the drain.. see pics below.. Also is it 2.1 quarts of synchromesh or just fill to spills out ...87gt 5 speed and a 88 gt 5 speed. like to do both cars today..

If cold, fill it until the dipstick shows it at the top of the C mark. If hot, H mark.

Actually, there IS a fill hole on the side, but I ALWAYS fill through the dipstick hole.
It's way easier to stick a funnel in it. Pic is from 87 Owner's Manual.

Did you get all fixed up now?

I realize that the info is from a 20-year-old manual, but I know on my car, the drain and fill plug are still in the same place, even after 20+ years.
