I have a chevy V8 TPI what temp do these engine run at.? It seems that the ecm turns the fans on at about 225 and turns it off at about 218 degrees. Does anyone know if this is correct? I am considering having the prom reprogrammed to have the fans turn on sooner or longer...any input?

The engine doesn't boil over, I guess just worried. This car has a custom cooling system with dual rear radiators so I would like to know what is the normal operating temp. for this engine. I have only idled the engine about 40min in the driveway and like I mentioned the fans turned on at about 225 and turned off at 218.

Thanks

I'm not sure it makes much of a difference what year it is, but I have a set of service manuals for the '87 Camaro with TPI. I can look up the info and post it later this evening unless someone else beats me to it. Gimme a couple hours...

My V8 ZZ4 temp guage reads 20 degrees too high. I found it disconcerting when I first saw this, but the car doesn't overheat, which is what is important.
