Parting out my 86 fiero, windows were still up when i pulled all of the wiring out of the passenger compartment
is it possible to use 12v to roll the windows down directly onto the connector?

Yes. It'll be a 2 wire system coming off the motor. You have two wires, and a 12V battery with a Ground / Positive terminal. Colored striped wire to the positive / white (I believe it was white) to the negative and the motor will work one way (I believe its up) and reverse the polarity and you'll get it to go the other way.

I did this to my 85'.

There's an 8 cavity connector near the inside of the car near the door hinge that comes in from the door. One larger wire is blue and one is brown in that connector. To lower the window, apply 12V to the brown wire and ground the blue wire to the battery's negative terminal. To raise them it's the reverse.

(Edit: add better description of location)
