OK this is what up sorry for the none fiero post on here this is only car forum i am remember of. Now on to the car its a 94 Eclipse with a 92 motor installed into it. the timing belt went taking out the valves so a reman head was put on. got the car so so that it will start and was meet with high idle and very noisy valves. the idle can be a few things i am more concerned about the noise valves tomorrow if weather let me i will pull the valve cover to check and see the head is getting good oil. some ons said that this motor on a rebuild or reman head will be noise till things break in? to me it just dont sound right i dont want to run it with it sounding like lack of oil to top end. any imput will help.

vid of right after start hi idle then slows down and is jumpy

PS NOT MINE hahaha

Thanks Jeff

Couple things come to mind. Your timing is way off and the pistons are hitting the valves- not good. Or you need to seriously recheck you valve shims, as well as the timing. Only things I can come up with at the moment. Hunting and high idle can be associated with the car needing to relearn idle air position after the battery has been disconnected for a bit. Best I can do without working on the car.

i am 99% sure the timing is spot on. i went over the maker very well and it was clear that everything was lined up. the friend that ownes the car said it had the hunting idle before any of this was done to the car. if the valves are hitting the piston it will bend them right away and not run right. their is not miss in it so i dont think thats what going on. i dont think it has valve shims as it has a rockers under the cam .

things to try is a compression test of the cyl's..... that will tell ya if the valves are seating or are hitting.. does sound like it is still out of time though to me, maybe a tooth off. if you hold the throttle at a constant does the engine smooth out ? like if you rev it to 2000 and try to hold it there or does it still hunt?

Did you set the timeing for the 92 motor (and not the 94 motor)?Allso did you replace the valves and guides with new parts.I definatley wouldnt drive it, untill you know whats going on.Allso Im thinking one or more of your rockers got spun (sideways),if your valves got bent.

the motor will smooth out if after it warms up the hunting idle goes away. the hunting idle was their before the head was changed. i was told that that the lifters on this car are noisy if the oil drains out any.

The taping is now down to am minimum safe level. It was the lack of oil in the lifters. Still working on the idle but that won't happen to I get car up to temp and then see what it codes.
