Doesn't the ECM use a signal from the oil pressure sensor to make sure it is ok to turn the fuel pump on? So if mine was wacky could that cause stalling issues?

No... the oil pressure signal isn't sent to the ECM. One half of the sender grounds the gauge through a variable resistance, and the other half of the sender simply completes a 12V circuit directly to the fuel pump (bypassing the pump relay). If your fuel pump relay is bad though, and you've been running the fuel pump in bypass mode unknowingly, then yes, a faulty oil pressure sender can cause your fuel pump to cut out.

When you turn your key to the run position (engine stopped) just listen for the fuel pump to prime for two seconds. If it does, then your fuel pump relay is fine and this isn't your problem. If it doesn't prime, then your fuel pump is bypassing the relay through the sender and it's possible it's not getting reliable power through it.

no the pcm does not read the oil pressure. The fuel pump relay is wired into the oil sending unit so that if the relay goes bad, that once the oil pressure hits 20 mybe 40 psi(not real sure on the psi) when cranking.that it will kick on the fuel pump. It is a fail safe.

The oil pressure sender turns the fuel pump on with approx 5 psi oil pressure according to the service manual.
