Can't figure out how to remove the luggage rack. There are no nuts on the underside of the lid.

I can't pull them anything off. Nothing will budge. Is there a trick? Pictures, anyone?

The rubber strips seriously just pull directly off. Start from one of the ends, wedge a flat head screw driver (!! this is important !!) BETWEEN the part where the rubber strip ends and meets the metal brace. Pry into and force upwards. Once a small bit of the rubber "pops" out it then just pulling it out with your hand. Repeat for the other four rows of the rack. You'll then see the bolts exposed for the rack under the rubber strips.

It takes at the longest ten minutes to remove the whole assembly.

The rubber strips on top are very stiff from being old and baking in the sun. Just pry it up with a screwdriver and grab it with some channel locks, side cutters or vise grips. Pull if off and you'll see the screws.

Planning on filling the holes, or just refinishing the rack?

Refinishing the rack, for now. I want a new wing. Haven't decided what kind yet. fourpoint9's on his orange 4.9 is awesome. I'm not sure what kind of wing that is though.

Just refinish. I would NOT suggest filling the holes. I used the exact stuff that a very good looking thread told me, and it bubbled through the paint to high hell. If I didnt have an honest painted, he was gonna charge an excess of $700 because he painted, then took out all my fiberglass, then filled it and painted.

Some people have removed the portions of the rack where the rack spoiler mounts, placed in their spots the normal smaller sections (so all five pieces of the rack are the single piece bars), and then installed a standard Fiero spoiler. You keep the benefits of the rack, while having the OEM styling of the Fiero spoiler. I did that with the first Fiero I've ever owned, but I never took a photograph of it....

I removed it today and kept the bushings in to prevent any possible water leak if it rains.
