Should I strip the old carpeting from the door panel and just place the new carpet over the top? I also heard that using glue to attach the carpet is a bad idea? Anyone have a method they have used that seemed to work well? Thanks!

Mr. Mike's website has a write up on it. I just replaced my door carpets with his leather kit. Use starting fluid to remove the old carpet and upholstery glue to apply the new material.

I used 3M HI Strength 90 carpet adhesive (carpet glue) on my old GT, properly prepared surface and application, 3M says it will hold forever, been 8 years so far. We also have used it here at work in the past to make repairs when they had the carpet store going. You need to make sure that everything is properly sized, fitted, trimmed and aligned prior to applying the adhesive. Take your time getting the old stuff off, you'll do just fine.

I was going to do this when I changed my interior to black but I was a worried wouldn't be able to get the new carpet to look right I ended up just cleaning it and spray painting it with carpet dye. Its only been a year but so far so good.
