I've heard of some folks using a series 3 L26 na engine & then swapping in a top end from a series 2 L67 sc or L32 sc..

Anyone know how do the hp & torque #s compare between this set up &
a stock L67 sc (240 hp, 280 ftlbs) or stock L32 sc (260 hp, 280 ftlbs)?

Any advantages/disadvantages you know of?
(I know compression is higher on the L26 , cheaper engines to find too, going with smaller pulleys later is more involved too---thanks Dan for that info btw)

This 3800 education stuff is gr8!

The s2 vs s3 thing is all covered in the blower / tune. The s3 motors used the Gen5 blower which gives that extra power gain. For the most part, a gen3 with a pulley swap will make just as much power as a pulley swapped gen5, on a mostly stock motor. (again, for the most part)

The na blocks (L36 and L26) are both the same, with the exception of the mid05+ motors getting a different (but imo not any stronger) rod. These motors have repeatably made well over 600 crank horsepower in daily drivers, so reliability compared to the SC blocks is pretty indifferent.

The "pulley size" question doesnt really matter after you add in a decent cam/exhaust or probably most importantly an intercooler. The compression at that point just becomes more horsepower at the end of the day. I wouldnt really try to make a bunch of power on a SC block through a m90.

Remember that if you buy a NA block, you will still need 50% of a SC motor to put the blower on. The short list includes:

heads
crank pulley
injectors
fuel rail
sc brackets
throttle body (not always)
blower

Oh this wonderful news. More options, I like that. I was wondering if you can take a L67 and run it without the supercharger and swap the n/a stuff and be N/A and smog it in a n/a car like the Camero? Trying to see if I can do something here in Cali to smog my car with the L67 block and a 5 speed.

i think i major factor is how much miles is on an engine that you can find.
