i went to the local GM dealer, they said they havent sold supercharger oil in years and said napa should have it, so i went to napa and napa said they were pretty sure it was just 5w30, but were not positive.

anyway, the dealer was no help, and im sure my supercharger is low on oil since someone left the bolt off the end of it, i gotta find out what kinda bolt goes into the end of it, and ive also got to find out what kinda oil to use, the bolt shouldnt be hard to figure out, but i definatly want the right oil.

please help!!

You can buy supercharger oil from ZZ Performance, eBay or at any GM parts dealer who knows his parts. Supercharger oil is a special oil as it smells far different from motor oil. My guess that its similar to Dextron V trans fluid but I'm not certain of this. Unless anyone uncovers the secret, its best to buy the right oil.

Is there more than the one GM dealer in town? I have read on a different forum that some use synthetic 5-30 in their blower - and it creates a lot of controversial discussion.

I'd personally stick with the GM supercharger oil... The last time I needed some I went to the local Pontiac dealer and they were out, so I went to a different GM dealer and they had it. The dealer price back then was about 8 bucks a bottle. ZZperformance does carry it and they have the best price that I've seen, but if you need it right way, you have to wait for it to come in the mail

There was a long discussion on the ClubGP board, I'll see if I can find the thread. There was the usual croud that has a lot to say, even though they don't actually know anything factual. One guy had done a lot of investigating and found some jet engine turbine oil. From what I know about jet lube it it probably some really good stuff. I have done some information gathering for work about avaition lubes.

Long story short, that is what I will use next time.
