Well, the adventure continues: getting ready to trouble shoot my trunk release ('88GT).

In a working system, the button operates a relay on the right side of the I/P. My question is simply: in a working system can you HEAR the relay when you push the button? I cannot hear it in mine at the moment....and if you can normally hear it operate, I will get a relay before I crawl under the dash.

Can someone out there PLEASE check for me?

TIA,
Larry

Riddick85,

Well, it is attached to a bracket under the right side of the I/P. But I do not need that much effort. Just listen from your seat when you press the release and see if you can hear it.

Actually, I am pretty sure my problem is the switch itself, though. I do not get continuity from the orange/black terminal to the grey/black terminal (or any of the others, either, for that matter), so I will go try and disassemble and clean it and see where that takes me. If it is not to much trouble for you to just make that listening test, though, I would really appreciate.

Thank you very much,
Larry

Riddick85,

Well, hell!

Problem is a broken switch!

Thanks for your effort and a + to you.
