Just a question i have to all the painters or whomever has removed pinstripes before. I've always heard you can buff them off with some compound and a little elbow grease but dont know the products out there. Can someone enlighten this poor dumb soul?

We've used a 3M decal remover at work to remove large graphics, letters, pin stripes from the work vans. It's a rubberized erasure wheel that attaches to your 2000 rpm drill, won't scratch or melt the paint like other methods will. Makes fast work of decal removal.

With painted stripes it depends on what type of paint was used. I'd try - VERY CAREFULLY - laquer thinner. Next would be compound: start with a micro polishing compound. BUT: I'm willing to bet you'll have problems taking them off without screwing up the paint.

Ya, are these tape/decal or painted? entirely different to remove. Both CAN leave lasting marks.

Try a heat gun or blow hair dryer. It will usually come right off BUT...the paint is probably bleached, so under the decal it's darker..and it's tedious.
