Some of the things I've always liked about air suspensions:

x^3 progression rate, so it's nice and soft for small deflection, but gets stiff quick (hey now, family forum).
Light weight
Transmits fewer vibrations and sounds to perch
adjustable height
allows weight jacking if needed or wanted
allows lowered cars to make it over bumps / curbs, etc.

That kit looks like for 84-87, don't see a way to put shock through spring for fronts.

Depends on what you want your car to do. Ever see any road race cars with air bags? No? Ever wonder why? Now how many luxury cars have some type of air ride? A lot. Wonder why? They're good at some things, terrible at others. Springs are pretty good at most things and not really terrible at any of them.

well I got the rear in and working, but am having a little trouble with the front, I thought that maybe someone on here may have installed them before and had the instructions as they didn't send them with my kit...
here is a link to the build up of my car so you can see what the kit really looks like:

Did you try contacting the company? If they I bought a $1200 kit, I would expect some instructions with it. And if they forgot to include them, they would have to send them out immediately at no charge to me.

Did you email them? Do they have a phone number? Try and keep on them or else they will just "forget" about you. Just try to keep civil and not be too much of a nuisance.

I have done Air bag setups on other cars and trucks but not a Fiero yet but I can say this none of the kits that where plug and play ever where.
you always have to make or remake something on them. the only kit I have ever done that was true plug and play was made by Air Ride.

good luck.

well it turns out that Helix air suspension is made by Airbagit.com and the mounts that they sent for the front are s10 mounts... so they are completely wrong, I am now in the process of building my own mounts for the bags. Airbagit wanted me to design the mounts, send the designs to them to build and then they were going to send me the completed kit but I have a hard time giving away R&D for free, expecially when I payed for a "kit" which would usually mean that they did some r&d on it before they sold it.

airbagit.com is one of the aim industries sites isn't it?

I can tell you from experience going back 10+ years and several trucks/SUV's,stay away from these guy's.
It's not their crappy customer service,it's their crappy product.
Even people that used to work there talk about what a joke it is.

I've personally attempted to instal several of their drop kits on different vehicles and have never had one fit correct really yet.
Part will look great but not line up,needed welded or more.
I've ordered an entire custom front end and the matching billet grille (one-off type grille surround).
They sent a stock overlay billet grille, which would not even fit in the custom surround.
They still charged me 20% restock fee and return shipping-pointless since I never got my refund anyway.

I've seen them change names many times over the past years, because their name gets bad so they start a new website.
The ads are always the same though, for the same crappy stuff.

STAY AWAY!!

unfortunatly I didn't know that the helix stuff was made by airbagit or I would not have bought it cause i knew about their crap, but I already have the kit and I have decided to just make it work. On a good note, from what I was told at least they are firestone bags that came with it

I agree. I bagged my 2005 Astro, sleeved the fronts, panhard and two link in the rear, dual viair compressors. The ride is great and helpful in towing, but definitely not a performance upgrade. I did outboard the front shocks(you have too, cause the bag sits where the spring was). However the cornering and performance was greatly affected, but it's a van, and im usually chillin while im rollin, so im happy with it. I just wouldnt want it on my Fiero. Just my two cents! If i can be any help with your airride, lemme know!

It looks as if the so called "kit" for the front spring replacements is around $300 plus the air compressor. Those air struts must be a bit on the high side wrt price.
