I have had a problem with my window on the drivers side side i replace the door pins and roller. The previous owner had let the problem go so long that the door had a pretty bad sag and wouldnt close easily. Before i replace the hinges and got rid of the door sag window lined up fine but not that the doors where its supposed to be parts of the window dont line up and i can hear wind coming in all the time. It doesnt leak when it rains thankfully but i still want to fix it badly. So how do you re align the drivers side window?

There are a number of ways to adjust the window. You'll have to remove the inner door panel and all the adjustments you could want are there. In the image below, items 93 & 97 adjust how high the window will go, item 98 controls the tilt of the window fore and aft, and 94 controls the tilt of the window in and out. Items 95 & 96 are the window stabilizers so you'll want ot loosen them up before you start and then tightem them up when you're happy with the rest of the adjustments. Just keep in mind that if you make adjustments be careful not to slam the door shut before you know whether you've adjusted it too far one way or the other.

Hey, thanks Gwain! I forgot to mention that items 91 are used to move the window frontward or backward in the opening.

I gave blooze a plus also for the great writeup, and i got the window adjusted this morning nearly perfect. Nice to have a quiet ride too bad i broke the inner door handle in the process . BTW the adjusting bolts were all 10mm if anyone were going to do this.

I've split the Body Service Manual section out from the 1986 Factory Service Manual and made it available separately for download. Doors/windows are covered in it. This is a small 113 page, 7 MB PDF file for quick download Click here to start it now.
