On with the post -- my 88 duke never had A/C, and I have no intention of installing A/C. So, with the current info, I could either leave the caddy A/C spinning as an extra pulley, buy a caddy A/C delete bracket, or try something new.
I hate the idea of useless parts, the ones that exist just to be there, so I took other's ideas and added some (or rather, took some away). Please be aware that this has not been road tested yet, and that my Camaro tensioner bracket is also a work in progress (as in I put it together with extra swap parts) -- but this seems a viable solution. On with the Pic!
And yes, the belt number is the one in the Pic -- the boys at NAPA were loving all of the returns/exchanges to narrow this down
Hope this helps someone, Mike

The bracket is more of a proof of theory, I don't think I can actually use it -- there were 2 support type bars not used in my build, I am not sure if they came from the duke or the caddy (but I think the caddy). One is short like the one supporting the alt, the other is longer, the long one is bolted to the intake manifold, the short one is bolted to the long and to the tensioner. The setup is probably too tall as well Anyways, more pics...

Yea. Thats gonna be too tall. Probably interfere with the deck spring or the deck itself. My spring comes real close to the alt when the deck in closed.
I probably used one of the simplest bracket with the camaro tensioner. At least from what I've seen on the forum... https://images.fiero.nl/p.../4.9_rebuild_013.jpg It bolts to the end of the tensioner and to the lower alt support like it was in this pic... I don't remember exactly but don't recall using a different bolt even. You can even still use the lower alt support bar if you like (I don't use mine).
I happen to have this exact one sitting right here. I made a new one thinking it was causing my belt chirp. I found out, after bolting the new one on , that the sound was actually a bad bearing in my alternator. It was tested throughly and the new one is almost identical. The lower hole was designed for bolt to pass through. The upper hole is threaded so a bolt can come from the back side of the tentioner and tighten into it. If you want it its yours for shipping only. If I send it out tomorrow you should have it friday, being that your so close. Shoot me a PM if you want it, just incase I don't get back on tonight and I'll send it out first thing. Its your lucky day. I just found it again last night or I probably would have sold it years ago.
EDIT: I can't promise the belt you have will fit perfectly but it should be very close being only 3/8" shorter. I noticed the pully you used on the end of the waterpump is smaller then mine. That might make it just about perfect. Only one way to find out...

I'm about to redo my exhaust also. Figured I'd take the opportunity while I have the cradle dropped (again ). I have to rebuild my getrag since the 3rd gear synchro is shot. Have you decided how you going to route it? Which type of muffler? Do you need to deal with emmisions testing like I do here? Just curious.

I am using the two front Seville manifold method, but am still putting it toegther. The muffler is a knock off flowmaster for a Camaro, one of many ebay purchases. I don't have to deal with emissions here, but I am still running a magnaflow cat, because I don't know where I'll be transferred next -- and might have to pass there.
I've yet to figure out the "y" pipe, but will when I get there...

Seville manifolds with a cat and muffler? How you plan to pull that off? Cutting the trunk?
The seville/eldorado (also 94-95 deville) have the angled down outlet. The 90-93 deville manfolds have the side outlet and work for stock fiero routing.

Fieroseverywhere, A plus for you, your mount has found its new home, and its quite happy!!
And the trunk has left the building, I didn't like the crossover, too much heat / clutter / and interferences with the linkage for my taste. My exhaust will be like the setups on FieroAddiction's website, with a change here and there. Summit delivered more bends today, will post pics when complete.
Aftermarket Belt tensioner need checking. See cave. Serpent belt, under Checking Belt Tension. Too loose=belt loose Too tight=dead tensioner
Many tensioner have a scale like Fiero but some don't. If you are the high end then the tensioner can die.

I'm on my 3rd trans now. That was during my first install and yes, it was an isuzu. It lasted about 1000 miles.
I then switched to the 3.65 4 speed. It worked very well but eventually I found a getrag in a wrecking yard. Thats what I'm currently running but now I have a 3rd gear synchro going out. So much fun!
