Yet another 3800 question.....

What are my options for the fuel rail setup? I have seen a few varations including the zzp rail but would like to see some more ideas. I will also be starting my buildup/swap thread this weekend because of the oncoming snow storm....

I will also be doing some shopping soon and i am curious about CAM selection. I know there are many to choose from and would like your opinions.

thanks in advance!

-John

You could use stock rails. I modified my series III rails to fit on backwards so that the fuel inlet is at the firewall on the passenger's side.

I have series III fuel rails adapted to fit my series II engine. It's a bit of work though. I bought them from another forum member.

Here's another picture of Series 3 rails modified to work on a Series 2 (flipped around so the inlet faces the firewall)

Keep in mind the only differences between the series II or II or the after market rails is cosmetic, they will all flow fine for even a modified engine so it all comes down to how much you want to spend and what look you want. One more point is that for the after market or series III rails you still need to mount a fuel pressure regulator some where as only the series II rails have the regulator mounted on them.
Personally I like the series III rails I have them on my car facing the stock direction and mounted a series II fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter over by the stock air filter location to make it accessible from above. Dan

Why even replace the fuel rails?I used the stock fuel rails and attached high pressure rubber fuel lines (and hose clamps) ,just like in "doublec4" post. The first picture...

Same

I either bend the lines to point toward the battery, or just loop the fuel lines under the blower, and then down inbetween the belt and exhaust.

I added aftermarket rails to clean up my swap. If looking just to have a running swap then the stock fails work great.

I am using a reworked set of stock fuel rails. I didnt want anything running over that beautiful supercharger and these were a cheaper alternative than ZZPs or PRJs rails.

Here is a thread on making a fuel rail, that I talked about, a while back. I believe it is under my old screen name - 3.8 SC.

daniel87fierogt,
Nice work! Do you have a build thread. I see that the battery is not in installed. Is it up front or just not installed yet?

Here's another look at the PRJ rails with the pressure gauge inline. If you go this route, be sure to let him know they are for a Fiero when ordering - the lines are a different length.
