What might be leaking from this seam? Is it transmission fluid?

It might be the rear seal of your engine that's leaking, but it's difficult to tell from here.

Clean up the area and see what color the oil is that's leaking out. Engine oil will usually have a dirty appearance, whereas tranny oil will usually look pretty clean. Dextron, from an automatic, will also look kind of reddish .

My lower intake and valve covers are leaking and im fixing that now, could it just be drips from that? whatever it is just collects at this point

I suppose if you see evidence of oil all down the block, sure.

Just make sure before you tear everything apart that it's not just the rubber O-ring on your distributor that's leaking (If you have a V6).

i had a similar leak and lucky enough it was just the hoses going into the tranny but it spread everywhere so i thought it was the seals...

Yep ^^^. Also I noticed your axle seal looks like it's crooked or bent somehow. Gap wider at the top:
