I have a 87 V6 with electrical boot opener, has anyone fitted a manual way of opening the lock if the battery goes flat?

A key usually works well. Don't you have one?

9v battery to the trunk popper switch/ wires

I have a little piece made up for opening deck lids on cars in wreckers, it is two 9 volt batteries taped together and one of those cigarette lighted power plugs wired to it with the batteries in parallel. I plug it in then push the deck lid switch and pop the deck lid opens right up. Have the odd one where I need to remove the switch and power it directly from there but most work fine right from the cig lighter. Dan
