Ordered a gas hose in March from the fiero store, the 2 part hose that goes from the filler pipe to the tank. My mechanic was under the car & noticed not only did the 2 hoses separate from each other the big one has a crack/tear going halfway around it near the clamp for the filler & the part near the tank has 2 crack/tears horizontally. The hose feels real soft. Called the fiero store & they are sending me a replacement. They say this is the first one they had like that. Why should this happen after only 7 months. It is not leaking yet but luckily I caught it on time as it is too near the exhaust.
No, I saw it before the mechanic put it on. The crack is in 2 different directions. The hose is real soft after just 7 months. If I remember right the original hose seemed much stiffer. Near the filler end it is vertical while near the tank end there are 2 horizontal ones, none are leaking yet but it looks scary if it does go.
