I have been chasing down electrical gremlins in my 85 GT - I have put all the interior light functionality problems to rest however the door buzzer is not functioning correctly - does anyone have schematics for this circuit? I have a couple repair manuals but neither show this component in their electrical circuits.

How is it not functioning ? Is it just randomly making noise ? If so that is an internal problem of the "blue dingy thingy" under the passenger side dash.

I will see what diagrams I can dig up.

hey Mike, thanks for the circuit. Background on the issue - I had domes only with doors open and under dash lights dim with buzzer when doors closed. Have all the interior lights working correctly now but I do not have any buzzer whether the doors are open or shut. What are the other 2 components alongside the "blue dingy thingy"?

Not totally remembering, but I think one is the horn relay, and a flasher for hazzards.

Just double checked...I remembered right !

Make sure all your fuses are good. A common problem is one fuse goes and backfeed other circuits. Example, if your BATT fuse goes the interior floor lights will come on with the door closed, but not open.

Thanks, I've been all through the fuse block in my gremlin hunt, I did find one wire that the insulation melted on about the last 2" before the fuse block connection! I have verified all the fuses with my fluke handheld.. and the BAT fuse was found bad during my lighting gremlin hunt. I am not quite sure how to verify the operation of the blue dingy thingy - I may just grab another one from the recyclers on Friday (and hope it is good) then continue the hunt from there.

here is the second page of the chime wiring, Mike posted the first part, you will need this.
I would also suggest you unplug the chime unit, it is a simple test to see if it is causing your issues, it isn;t really needed, and if you still see issues, you have another short somewhere.
