Metal Line??? by 1986Fiero

I have a 2.8l 86 SE and behind the engine there is this metal line/hose about 3/4 inch wide and it goes from the air box to about the middle of the back of the intake. I have no idea what its for. I think its just to circulate air but im not sure.

It had been used for the PCV routing before that changed w/the "recall" re-design. There should be
a plug on a fitting nipple on the side of the air cleaner canister, if not, plug that hole as it'll allow dirty
air past the filter element.

Yes, the larger one was eliminated. The reason that you can't remove the pipe is there is a small tube on the bottom that goes to the EGR solenoid from the air cleaner...
