I don't know of any Fiero engine swap shops, but there may be some people who would be willing to help you with your swap. What are you looking to swap into your car?

The closest to you would be V8 Archie (Archie here)in Rockford IL if you want a SBC V-8. ( www.v8archie.com )
For all other swaps see Sinister Performance (Darth Fiero here) is in Fort Wayne IN. ( www.gmtuners.com )
I don't know any others in the midwest. There are some down south and a couple on the east coast and west coast.

Like av8fiero. I don't know of any "Fiero engine swap shops" in Wisconsin. As Oreif suggested, for something that specialized, your best bets relatively nearby to you will be had either by going to Illinois (V8 Archie) or to Indiana (Sinister Performance).

Nonetheless, there are three shops not far away from you in Wisconsin --- even though none of them specializes in engine swaps for Fieros --- which may consider installing an engine swap in your Fiero.

  1. Randall's Auto Haus, Menasha (about 18 miles from you)
He installed a 3.4L from a `95 Camaro in my `86 GT, and his was the only place I found nearby me willing to do that for a year-round, daily driver Fiero. However, I think I helped him out a great deal by doing much of the research and legwork required to accumulate most of the key parts needed for this Fiero engine swap. Reliable, straight shooter. Good guy.

  2. Zero to 60 Garage, Sherwood (about 8 miles from you)
Has a good reputation among many car enthusiasts locally, but didn't even want to touch my (not-at-all-radical) 3.4L Fiero engine swap project, although when I met with him, he was working on a full-tilt, blown, injected, and nitroused, monster-sized engine swap for a new Mustang. As he straightforwardly put it to me, "You said you want your Fiero to start and run reliably in the dead of winter. The Mustang guy doesn't care about that; he just wants the fastest Mustang in the state, and that I can just about guarantee." Accordingly, if you want the fastest Fiero in the state, maybe there is a chance this is the closest place for you to go to.

  3. Blanchard Speed Shop, Neenah (about 19 miles from you)
This place also has a good reputation among car enthusiasts, and even mechanics, because of its hirings of some of the best of the latter locally. However, if you're "bucks down" for affording an engine swap, and like many of us, start all your engine swap questions with "How cheaply can I ..." --- this candidly probably is just not the place for you to go. The last time I was there, one of their many projects was a Weber-carbureted Cobra, with the Webers themselves not exactly being a "bucks-down" endeavor.
Heck of a nice-looking engine, though!
Anyway, I hope this helps provide you some additional food for thought.

BTW, I noticed that your post opening this thread was your first post to this forum. Welcome to it, farming for fieros!

What kind of swap are you interested in? I live just 15 min from Green Bay. I did a 3.4 swap and a 4t60 tranny swap on mine.

thank u all for the replys i actually have a 3.8 in my 86 gt but its a LN3 from like 88 buick, i know its not the choice of any of the people hear but at the time i didnt know any better.i just got excited when i saw3800. well i just got this fiero down in orgeon wis. in july and love it, car and has some nice torque but it jerks and lags me around in 1st and 2nd gears its very annoying, its a five speed by the way, and i dont know what transmission it is. the previous owner had a shop put in a new clutch and other thing related. i found two vaccum leaks thats fixed the idle surges but still jerks. i thought if it was cheap enough i would do a series 2 swap with some zzp parts. do any of u have a sugestion about my problems. about me (i just turned 21 and just know alittle more than the average bear in cars). and i do farm with my dad and 2 uncles hence the name. maybe ill see u guys driving around the fox cities. damn this cold weather. thanks again for ur help adam

Given your post immediately above, you could contact the folks at the second firm Oreif mentioned, Sinister Performance (website link: http://www.gmtuners.com ) in Fort Wayne, IN. They've an excellent reputation, and they offer "Custom Chip/PCM Reprogramming" for 3800 engines. It looks like that support includes even the naturally aspirated LN3 you have, if you want to keep that engine. However, unless you leave the car there for awhile, trying to effect electronic tuning repairs on any car "long distance" can be time-consuming.

If you want a 3800 Series II engine swap instead, you'll really like the first picture that shows up in the link I just mentioned, given your earlier comment:

I suspect, however, that a Series II engine swap isn't going to be as "cheap" as you'd prefer:

Accordingly, you may be better off fixing the 3800 LN3 that you have first, even though, as you know, the Series II is the more desirable engine.

Don't forget about Beyond Redline in Green Bay Wisconsin!!!

I work there as their marketing and sales guy. Although we haven't done a Fiero swap in house, we have shoe-horned enough other engines into vehicles including:

Various Honda Swaps
AWD LSX Typhoon
Turbo 7.0 Camaro
Etc, etc.

I am a former Fiero owner and am well versed in the platform and am more than ready to assist in getting things together for you.

We also have an in house AWD Dyno and offer custom tuning for all kinds of vehicles.

Check out our website or drop me an email and we can set up a time for you to tour the shop and discuss things.

Thanks!!
