I will be in the market for front shocks in the near future, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the QA1's that are sold on the HT Motorsports site? They state "The QA1 PROMA STAR has become the shock of choice to the serious performance minded Fiero owner." But I have not seen much about them on this forum.
I have an 85 Fiero that will have Koni's on the rear and Eibach springs all around, but I am not sure where to turn for front shocks. I was really leaning towards Koni to match the rear, but then I ran across these which are externally adjustable, which is a big plus. I searched on here and there were only a few threads that mentioned them and they were all for coilover setups in the front. Are these shocks only for coilover setups, or can they be used as a regular shock? They have two different listings for them on the site, one for the coil over shock, and one that just says externally adjustable shocks. So it sounds like they make regular OEM replacements to me, but I would just want to be sure before purchasing. Is anyone on here running them, opinions on them? Input is appreciated. Thank you.

go on the summit racing web site .as long as you know the stock shock demensions and mounting type , QA1 makes a shock that will fit .i would really like a set for my held sport front suspension , but they only fit the extended arm setup .shock body is too large in diameter .

Has anyone done this before? Or does anyone have the dimensions for a front shock of an 84-87? Also I have my car lowered with Eibach lowering springs, would that make a difference in shock measurement or just measure the stock shock and replace like for like? I really like the idea that they are externally adjustable, and would love to end up with a set on my car. I saw that Chip Foose used a set on a rerun of Overhaulin this morning, so I know they are good. I have Koni's on the rear and I really like the way they feel so I am really considering going Koni on the front as well, but they seem inconvenient to adjust. I would rather have something that I can bolt on and play with the settings while leaving it on the car.

I have a set of the QA1 externally adjustable shocks on my 87 with coilovers and the "Slalom" bolt in cross member. The shocks are awesome, but I don't think they will work in the stock location because of their size. I really think you would be better to get bolt in Konis or coilovers.

I already thought about this option, but unfortunately I didn´t find a solution for the rear. For the front you can use a QA1 Stocker Star AL Shock. I didn´t have the Item-No., but I think it is possible to find out.

Well I have my Koni's in the back, and I am pleased with those, I'm just worried about the front. If some one could confirm if it is possible, and the part # I would need I would really appreciate it. I was recently on summits site browsing to see what I could find and I am pretty lost looking through the QA1 inventory. My car is my daily driver so I would want to order the shocks that I would be using before I would take the old ones out. I am no suspension guru here by any means.

Website is qa1.net They offer single and double adjustable shocks. It looks like those shocks don´t have dust covers, so you have to make the covers if you want to use them in a daily driver. I am looking for some stock shocks to measure the mounts, compressed and extended length.

I did some research and found a old OEM front shock. Here are the results of the measurements:
Upper Mount: T-Bar Lower Mount: Eyelet Compressed Length: 230mm = 9,05 inch Extended Length: 330mm = 12,99 inch Dia. Cover: 56mm = 2,20 inch Dia. Tube: 46mm = 1,81 inch Eyelet Sleeve: ID: 10mm = 0,39 inch OD: 16mm = 0,64 inch Length: 35mm = 1,38 inch
There are 3 shocks ( TC1545P, TC1914P and DTC1914P) with similar compressed and extended length but they have different mounts. I think thre is no chance to adapt those mounts.
