So, I kinda need to get this job done quick so I can get onto shingling (sigh) and odds are if I did it without asking, I'd end up removing waaay more bolts and spending way more time than I need to.

Can anybody give me a quick run-through of how to get this bumper off?

You nedd to remove the hood to get to all the 7mm(i think) bolts along the top, get the ones in the wheel wells, remove marker lights and get the ones in there, and the ones underneath held with the metal supports and air dam. I think thats all.

I use a cordless drill with the correct size bit in it. Really speeds up the process!

That's what I thought. Is the hood heavy? One man job?

The hood has some weight but not bad. I can take it on & put it back on myself with no problem.

Ya, I have tried and always end up with the screws near the center unable to get to without scratching up the edge of the hood

I used an open end tappet (thin) 7mm (I think) wrench to get mine off without taking off the hood. It took a little longer but wasn't bad. WIth the hood opened all the way up there was about 3/4" to work in. The centers were about 1/2".

All right, so got the bumper off, did some minor repairs, tightened loose bolts, getting it back on now. When I took the bumper off though, I found about 4 screw-clips just sitting on the bottom of the bumper. I figured they were from the wheel wells, but I've checked around, and they all seem to have clips on them already. Anybody have any idea what they're for? Spare parts perhaps?

the outer top screws i used a deep socket and with the hood lifted, i was able to get under it and take them out...then the ones closest to the center of the top i got w/ just a 7mm wrench...loosen'd them to the point i could unscrew by hand...then the fender well screws out w/ a socket as well as all the others under the front..then i just pulled up just a little and then out and the bumper came right off...like i said, bout 20 mins for the whole thing...would have taken even less time but i had to use a pair of vise grips to get one screw out from under the bumper

yeah, i had read before that you needed to remove the front hood to get the front bumper off but after i got to looking, i said to myself, "self, i'm just gonna start trying to take it off until it gets to the point where i have to remove the hood" ...but it never got to that point...

Make it easier on your self, forget the 7 mm bolts in front of the hood, Remove the TORX bolts holding the bracket on instead, that way you won't have to re align the entire cover after putting it back on.

Just a word of caution. Be very careful with that metal strip the top of the bumper sits on. It bends very easy and is pretty hard to find a replacement.
