I have been running some searches and cannot find the best way to clean and buff out the engine manifold. I have heard that SOS pads work, but am wondering what the proper or best way to get the manifold shinny again. My is faded red right now and it bugs me.

I am talking about the red intake manifold. I know the best thing to do is just have it powercoated again. I was hoping that there is something else I might get lucky with.

Years ago I tried wetsanding but the faded color seems to be solid.
Ended up removing the plenum. I removed all the casting marks and sharp edges with a tungsten grinding bit making the plenum smooth.
Had a friend media blast the whole thing then painted it with a heat resistant rattle can paint then using a sanding block to bring back the "Fiero" lettering. Held up pretty good a couple of years.
The constant heat speeds up the fading so powdercoating it the correct way to go.
