Isn't the 4.9 a metric engine? What class were the stock bolts? (10.9 or 12.9?) The stock Northstar bolts are torque-to-yield 10.9's, but I use 12.9's.

Will is correct. You will need bolts in that strength range. You NEVER use SAE grade 5 bolts for any flywheel to crank application.

4.9 owners -- I am getting closer, and I don't wanna mess this up -- centerforce dual friction finally showed!
What are you running for flywheel bolts? Are the stock caddy ones long enough?
Running a LSC flywheel...
NAPA wants $70.00 for a set for a 4.6 Ford....
Locally I can only source grade 5 or NAPA, and I don't want to buy NAPA's if there too long or unnecessary -- please respond.
dood. go to the fierostore.com annd buy the flywheel bolts for a v6 manual flywheel. take the thinking out of the equation. they are the right length, right thread, and right strength. the TQ spec is the same as a V6 fiero flywheel for a manual tranny as well:
