I bought my 88 Formula about 3 weeks ago and I noticed that the radio never stored stations or time, so I checked the fuse and of course it was blown (this solved the problem as to why my horn wasn't working as well), a few days later the fuse blew once again. Now in the third week of owning this car I have gone through about 5 fuses. Does anybody have any insight as to why this fuse is always going out. Would it help to change the 25 amp fuse to a 30 amp? Thanks for any help.

Dont change it for a higher amp fuse, then you will burn up wires and other components first. Sounds like there is a short somewhere in the circuit, have you looked in the cig lighter for pennies or other forign metallic objects ?
The only thing that can be happening to cause this problem is if the orange wire running from the Bat Fuse (to a factory splice that branches the circuit to four separate components) has worn through the insulation somewhere along the wire and is rubbing against some bare metal, or one of the four end-components is faulty. In case you don't have the 88 service manual, here's what the four components are that are on the Bat Fuse to help you isolate the problem:
-Cigar Lighter (orange wire) - look for the wire having chaffed through and touching the casing (which is grounded), or perhaps one of the mounting screws having pierced the insulation of the orange wire. The wire bundle that this orange wire passes through passes by the shifter mechanism, so you can remove the shifter console (four screws under the ashtrays) and check to see if the shifter has chaffed through the bundle anywhere;
-Radio (orange wire) - you can isolate the radio from the circuit by removing the trim plate (four torx screws), then the radio (four 7 mm screws), pulling out the radio, and temporarily disconnecting the 2 pin connector with the orange wire to see if the fuse stops blowing;
Footwell Courtesy Lights (orange wire) - again, you can isolate the courtesy lights by following the orange wire up from the driver's light in the footwell until you come across a two pin connector with two orange wires and two white wires, and disconnecting it temporarily to see if the fuse stops blowing; and
Horn Relay (terminal A, orange wire) - the horn relay is plugged into the convenience center, which is located in the passenger footwell. Stick your head in there and look for a light blue colored box under the dash near the center console and you'll have found the center. The horn relay is the 1"X1" black plastic box next to the blue box. It's possible that the relay is shorting out internally, so you might try unplugging it temporarily too.
