Did a G/A conversion this weekend. But now I have a problem. I have adequate rotor to bracket clearance, but on hard turns at low speeds, primarily when turning into a parking spot, I get a grinding noise. I did the torque to 12 ft lbs and then hand tight deal. Is the bearing just not tight enough? Or is there really that much flex in the spindle?

P.S. I used brand new rotors to cut the hubs from, and brand new bearings with mobil 1 synthetic grease.

I allso did the Grand AM brake up grande and I can tell you that its probubley the large C shaped caliper bracket rubbing on the back side of the rotar.
1.Remove the front tire.
2.remove the caliper and position out of the way.
3.now look over and behind the rotar and you should see the bracket rubbing on the rotar.
4.Still dont see anything after these steps, well then remove the rotar and inspect for rubbing on the metal surface.
If none of the above applies to you then as for the bearing,I did mine hand tight with no real pressure on the nut and then backed it off just enough to get the cotter pin in to lock it in place.I think there was some sort of washer on the axle end,did you remember to put those back on.

can;t help with t upgrade, but when you set bearings you MUST rotate the hub while setting the torque. this helps to work excess grease out of the bearing and seat the rollors on the races properly.

This might be the same problem I have when turning at lock.
