Right rear return hose, coolant pipe to water pump on my '84 Duke with a/c. Having trouble even seeing back of pump. Should I pull the compressor?

That hose goes between the engine block and the AC compressor. Mine was fun. I ended up removing the compressor, but I didn't have the hoses or belt on it yet.

Mine has the hoses, not the belt. Might have to do it that way. The heat shields are in the way over the top, exhaust underneath. Meanwhile, once I got the fender liner down, I found the real problem appeared to be the water pump gasket. After finally getting the pump off (gee, that was fun), found coolant all around lower weep hole. New pump comes tomorrow. Still not sure how I'm getting that one bolt back in-had to wrench out little by little until it fell. Even my small hands can't get into some of these places.
