So I've begun my chop top and I've already ran into a few problems.

I Have remove all of the nuts and bolts and screws and body panels in order to remove the rear clip, but right behind the sunroof is still attached. Is it just double sided taped down? Or is it glued on or what exactly?

Im thinking a heat gun and a little manipulation should get it removed but im trying to get this off before it storms so i can get the exterior done and move on to the interior dissasembly.

Any ideas? Any input from someone that has done it or read how to do it?

i am not sure about the fastback style but on the notchback there are little prongs i guess. You need to remove the headliner and unscrew the fiberglass top which is laying over it. I will see if I have some pictures if thats not clear

Edit: I dont have good pictures so lets see if I can explain it better. The rear clip is attached by some bolts that are only accessible by removing the headliner. It is also slid under the the top part that is around the sunroof so I removed the bolts on this also (underneath headliner also) because it had little teeth that also held on the rear clip.

The rear clip is bolted on to the frame at three spots across the top of the clip. You have to remove the headliner to gain access to the three nuts. Use caution, as too much torque on them or glue used as a sealant, will cause the bolts to break loose from the top clip. You will have to be creative if that happens. I just drilled out the bolt with a hole saw drill bit (1.5 inch). But cross that bridge if you get to it. Also, you have one bolt/nut on each side behind the qtr window that you have to access after you remove the side interior panels. I think its a 10 or 11mm nut. So that is 5 total you have to get to from inside the car.

Thanks guys I ended up doing exactly as told, took off the headliner and found the bolts. Took off the clip now im ready to remove the interior.

Any have a suggestion for a good headliner replacement? Wouldnt mind a carbonfiber headliner. It has the factory sunroof as well.
