Actually if you are able to locate the eBay auction, the side treatment doesn't look too bad but that nose is one of a kind! To my eyes the Fiero is a beautifully designed car with nearly timeless styling. Many elements of the design are still used today.
As for a rebody; there are some very good looking body kits for the Fiero and some attrocities as well. Much of what we've seen on eBay of late fits the latter.

It does look bad from that shot. Id have to see a different angle. Could be just a trick of the camera that makes it look longer than it actually is. Its sort of like some of the girls shoots, if they have shorter legs, I shoot from a lower angle and it makes them 'appear' longer.

From the way that thing looks, I can't imagine a camera angle that would make it look good.
