Well I'm doing a restore on my 85gt. Its been sitting for 10 years.and rats made a new home I got the smell out by gutting the thing. I noticed some wires had got eaten. The reverse switch wires, speaker wires and the orange and white going to the dome light got eaten. Should I replace or repair the harness? And is it even possible to replace the harness easily?

I would say the decision should be based on the extent of the damage. Few and little damage, repair. Extensive damage, I would recommend replacement. For every splice you increase you opportunity for trouble/problems.

My 2cents........

Its a total of 12 wires. 8 of them are for speakers. How hard is it to remove? I'm afraid to tear it out!

Just solder and shrink wrap the damaged wires and you'll be fine

If it's just the exterior jacket and not the wire itself just use electrical tape.

For audio wiring, I thing replacement is the best thing to do, especially if you're an audiophile like me.

If you plan to replace, don't rip out the old, just install new disconnecting the old at the connections. This will prevent disturbing any other wires in the same area.
