I already did the front cradle bushings but I'm confused as to how do to the rears.
I lifted up the back of the cradle with a floorjack, put jackstands under the front portion
of the cradle, took off the bolts that hold the rear cradle bushings in and then slowly
let the floorjack down. I expected the rear portion of the cradle to lower itself down and
seperate from the body but it did not. The two front jackstands fully held up the car even
after I let the floorjack all the way down from the rear of the cradle.

Maybe I didnt put the front jackstands forward enough under the cradle? You cant put
them too far foward though as the cradle arm turns upward toward the front bushing mounts.

What am I doing wrong?
Is there a better way?
No, I dont have a cherry picker. Oh, and I have an 85 GT.

Thanks, Kit

The cradle is not going to drop with stands under it. You need to put the stands under the frame rails in FRONT of the cradle. Also, be careful not to drop the cradle too far as you can bend/break things.

Don't forget to loosen/remove the three bolts on each side next to the louvres, holding the struts.
At least I had to remove the bolts, but try leaving them in first and if it jams then loosen them a bit to see if it helps.
Most people change the bushings when the cradle is completely out but I know mine worked like this.
Jackstands must be under the frame like mentioned above.

Edit: Added a few parts

You were correct sir! Many thanks.......
The cradle lowered nicely after I put the jackstands just in front of the front cradle mounts.
All done!
