Hello All,

I am currently looking at some wheels for my car at Discount Tire Direct. Does anyone have pictures with this setup?

Thanks in advance,
Thomas

Your rear tires would be shorter overall than your fronts, which would look a bit off, especially since your rear wheel openings are larger than the fronts. Post more info, or a link, to your wheel choice, including the width(s?)

Here is the link to the wheels I am getting:

http://www.discounttiredire...d=17&rw=7&vid=004286

The sizes I listed are what was recommended by the company. I also have a eibach 1" drop. What is the best size combo to use with this setup?

P.S. - By the way discount tire is having a special on wheels and tires. $50 off on select wheels and $40 off select tires for a set of four!!

You'll most likely want to use 235/45-17 OR 265/40-17 for the rear of your car. Almost goes without saying, but you'll need to consider proper wheel width and offset.

BigCustomWheels has a fantastic tire/wheel comparer on their web site: www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp

Check it out!

You can NOT use 245 wide tires with a 40 profile on a 7" wide wheel - it's too wide (see link below for recommended wheel sizes for specific tire sizes). The recommended wheel width for a 245/40/70 is between 8" and 9.5". The ideal 40 profile tire for a 7" wheel should be 205 mm or 215 mm wide.

You can use 245 wide tires on a 7" wide wheel if you use smaller diameter wheels and a higher profile tire - say a 15" wheel with a 60 profile tire.

i have 245/50/16's on 7" wheels , they fit fine and when they flat spotted over the winter , Kumho honoured the warranty .i think the width of the wheel is more of a problem with the lower profiles .i would like to go to a smaller width on the front (currently 205/40/16) to improve rough road handling , but with 7" wide rims 205 is as narrow as i can go .the wider the tire on the front , the more they throw you around on a rough or rutted road .you dont need a real wide tire on a fiero to pull high G's because the car is fairly light weight .my tire combo worked really well at Waterford hills last summer .

A 205/50R17 on a 17x7" would be great for the front, that wheel should also be available in a 17x8 for your rear. Then fit that with a 235/45.

I must say the wheel size I mentioned looks pretty good and does not look unproportional .
