I remember seeing a dyno sheet of a stock 2.8 in the forum but I can't find it. Can somebody direct me to it?

Thanks

Thanks Darkhorizon! I just needed it to compare and see if I was going the right direction. With some off the shelf parts my power went up more than expected!

Nice to see you had some success with the stock system. Here is my setup when dyno'd and results were 132 rwhp. The block is tired though. (compression isn't great)

1. ported exhaust manifolds and ported heads w/1.6 roller tip rockers
2. re-worked crossover into 2.5" pipe with no restrictions
3. 2.5" mandrell bent exhaust, no CAT, Magnaflow muffler
4. MSD ignition and coil
5. Vacuum advance distributor (tunable)
6. Edelbrock dual plane intake - Torker II
7. Holley 390 cfm carb (spring kits to fine tune) - #512 jets
8. Moroso 14" racing air cleaner (really high flow)
9. Mallory racing bypass regulator (60 psi handling, down to 3 psi)
10. New 3/8" fuel lines and new filter
11. 8mm Taylor wires
12 AC delco sparks

I have a fresh engine waiting with an Offenhauser intake and Cloyes timing set with Full 1.6 roller rockers, Crane 2030 cam, and true duals with long tube custom headers. It will add some more, probably headed for 175 hp at the crank and 155-160 rwhp.

Lose the Hypertech Thermomaster (stock is better), get a proper chip burned (on a dyno) if you feel you must have a custom
chip. If the BLMs aren't whacked out, or the wide band isn't predicting suicide, why bother?

Nice numbers! At what rpm was that 132whp and peak torque? what kind of dyno did you used?

So what is the actual true HP of the 2.8L V6, I thought it was around 135-140HP you guys are giving 120, 132rwhp?

This was the dyno with .49 jets and it shows a lean condition at 2500 rpm. That was cured later. It also had a mean bogg off the line which was later cured also. Notice the blip where the contact got loose. Also notice the hp did not reduce until I started de-throttling.

If you look at the link by darkhorizon the stock 2.8 yielded 111whp and 138w torque, if you multiply this numbers by 1.17 it will give you the crank hp, 130hp and 161 lbs/ft respectivelly. That is very acurate run on a stock 2.8.

need to remember, on a chassis dyno like this - you also have driveline loss.
while the 2.8 itself my be putting out 135-140, it also must put this power thru the transmission, which takes power to turn. and, depending on conditions that can be anywhere from 5% to 20%

123WHP and 156wtorque with a big bore TB by throttlebodys.com. I'm adding some plenum volume to the stock plenum and then try different TB set ups. Those include a TPI tb and another one of my own idea. Anybody with a Dual tb for sell so I can dyno it? Also have a bigger cam (207in/219exh duration @0.050 and .455in/.484exh lift 108 LCA this is with the 1.6 rockers). Also ported manifolds and ported head.
