Folks:

Just wondering what sort of gas mileage you are getting in the city and on the highway?

Regards,

25 give or take 10mpg with the supercharger.. a bit better with the turbo.

With the SC I would expect low 30's going to the track, about 15mpg at the track, and about 25 romping around town, with quite a few wide opens.

When I am done with tuning turbo setup, 36-37 mpg highway is my goal.

When I had my 87GT 3800SC, I got 29-30 mpg on the hiway with headers, smaller pulley and a Haltech Computer with average tune. 17 inch wheels.

Modded 3800SC/65E running 3.29 gears/3K stall I get 25 MPG on the highway and 23 or so in town. Before I dropped in the 42# injectors and dropped to a 3 inch pulley I was getting 31 MPG on the HWY and 27 or so in town. I tell myself to go back to stock injectors and pulley up but I can live with 25 MPG and all the power that goes along with it.

Mods should NEVER affect gas mileage, short of a extreme cam... Pulley size has no effect, and usually the upgraded injectors offer a better spray pattern than stock...My buddies that swap to 60's typically see a 2-3mpg increase overall.

The manual trans car in town will touch 38mpg average on the eway, on race gas, although it was mostly from PCM related calculations (I believe it to some degree though)

MR.drift, let me know when you want to go back to L67, we can make it happen.

When one falls into my lap for super cheap. This motor runs like new, it's hard to want to take it apart when it is working so well . Though I can say that my last swap, being one of the few way back in 2002, cost WAY more than they do now. I spent 2k on mounts and exhaust alone, not to mention 2k for a motor. Seems like you can do it for way less that half that now...

29-31 with the auto in mixed driving and keeping my foot out of it. I've never went through a tank full yet exclusively driving it on the hiway or in town. That's about 6 mpg better than the stock 2.8 auto that used to be in it.

I got 25-27 on the freeway... about 14-15 pure city driving with the 4 speed muncie and 3800SC. I have a heavy foot when it comes to stop-and-go driving... no wonder my city sucks haha. I'm sure a tune would pick up a few MPGs

I'm slowly working on a 6 speed F40 swap... I hope to get over 30mpg on the freeway after that.

This hurts my heart. Something has to be wrong with my car, I just cant figure out what. I get about 14 city and 20 HW. I have a 2004 Series III SC with the getrag 5spd. Everyone gets good miles on there car I was expecting the same for mine. Got any Ideas for why this is happening?
