Searched, but nothing obvious.

Anyone have good tips on cleaning up the gray plastic switches? Mine are ashy and really detract from the otherwise nice interior on it. Thought I read about someone polishing them, but not sure the details. Any proven remedies?

Burnishing them will take most of it off. You can use plastic polish which should work ok.
Some have also taken them apart and spray painted them.

Basically rubing with a very firm cotton cloth etc. If you rub it with the back of your fingernail you will get the idea..

you can use auto paint polishing compound this is the mild rubbing compound.(green instead of red can).this is what I was going to do ,,just have not got around to it because go rill la force was used on all my nuts and bolts and I spend a lot of time on extraction and repair ..
do the side of the button first lightly to see how it works ,rubbing compound may be to rough but you can try it if you have it on hand

Metal polish (beleive it or not) works very well. A rag cloth with some elbow grease and they can shine up pretty well.

I've tried the painting route with "mixed" results. In a lot of cases, the plastic isn't just dirty, it is literally wearing thin (such as the power window switches). For the power lock switches you can get a set of stickers from Rodney. However, since the switches aren't that expensive and still available it might be worth your time to just buy new ones.

Buy new ones. They are still pretty cheap.
