i have a few questions about the 3.1 motor:
1: will the 3.1 have enought clearance by the inake in order to bolt right in?
2: with a newer ('97) ecm what is needed to get this swap done
3: how hard is it to unsieze a 3.1?
because.
my friend down the road has a grand prix and it has the 3.1 and four speed auto. i
have the crazy notion of swapping that motor into my auto and making sparks fly.
i know they are basicly the same as any ol 2.8. but he says that the motor siezed on him.
and doesnt know much else.
apparently i can have the motor and trans for free! sounds like a good deal to me.
also what about the trans im guessing its a 4t60 trans so wud the vss work the same? or is something diff about that.
and how much fabricating do i have to do.
what about axles? will stock work from the grand prix? the car doesnt have too many miles on it
about 130k.

thoughts?
suggestions?
should i?
or is it not worth it?

Thats pretty high mileage, and it's siezed besides....is maybe a 10% gain in HP worth rebuilding this engine and doing the swap to you? ("No" would be my answer!)

There is NO WAY I would put a seized engine on my Fiero. That's just asking for trouble.
