I was pulling my fuel pump out of my '86 V6 2.8l to replace and have a question regarding the tubes coming into the top of the tank. One is for the pump, but what is the purpose of the other two? The reason I ask is because the tube that runs all the way down to the "filter/sock" appears to be clogged, is it suppose to be?

The tank has a line out, a return, and a vent for built up vapor pressure

One is supply, return and vent. The one that goes down and ends by where the sock would sit is thhe return line and should not be clogged. None of them should be clogged.

Yep, if you didnt have those lines, gasoline would build up pressure inside and push it out the filler neck when it got hot. In an extreme case, with no venting, you would not be able to pump any fuel to the engine or the tank would crush itself.

Not just our little Fieros, but any car with no vent on the fuel tank could potentially start leaking. And of course all gasoline vapors need is the smallest of ignition sources to make pretty colors....
