I have a newer Grand Prix CD radio. The display is out and I pulled out the bulb but I can't seem to find a replacement bulb. Anyone know where I can find it?

According to them, radio shack. It's a standard 12v bulb, you can makeshift one if it comes down to it. Check ebay, GM, and Delco if you don't have any luck with radioshack.

I bought a small light from radio shack and soldered it in place forgoing the brown connector. Worked like a charm.

On a side note has anyone here ever used the cold heat soldering iron? It's amazing and it works. Get one for your small electronics. For $20 you can't go wrong. I'm very impressed

Radioshack 272 - 1092 works for the display on the late model player. The radioshack bulb is much smaller than the original.

I made a video of the bulb replacement, though never finished the narration at about 3:45 I show the replacement bulb going in.

good video. I used part 272-1141 because there were no others available. I also didn't think to reuse the connector so I souldered directly to the board

For the cold heat gun works good when the battery are fully charged , a slight drop and not much you can solder with that .
Watch out for the tips they are very weak and over here they cost almost the same as the complete kit .
Have an almost brand new here .With three kind of tips .( just use it for trial and when feed up going back to regular soldering gun ) But if it went good to you it's ok maybe mine is defective even if almost new . And this is my second one

Cold Heat can also fry attached electrical components due to high-voltage apparently.
