I've used that self-stick stuff from Jegs and Summit does a good job but the surface has to be very clean and even then, it want to peel off in time. Now when I put it on heat shields like for the coil I put a pop rivit here and there just to make sure it come lose. http://www.jegs.com/i/Therm...c/893/14620/10002/-1

Reflectix (great stuff!!!!) would work well for the engine compartment insulation - just cut to fit and use the stock large head plugs to hold it in place - tape any seams with the aluminum tape.

Yeah, I'm using reflectix to replace my original deteriorating insulation, that is once I get my engine compartment together. I got the idea from seeing it in on a GTI firewall.
