When am braking often, the brake light will come on and I usually have to really push down on the pedal to get it to brake. It is like it loses pressure. the fluids are full and it brakes fine when just cruising down the highway. It is only when i am in stop and go traffic. After awhile I start to lose my brakes. Any ideas?

Likely you have a leak somewhere the best and easiest way to check is look under the car and at the bottom inside of the tires. You should see brake fluid residue down the tire and on the rim. If so you have a caliber or hose leak. If the brake light is coming on as you drive and the brakes feel soft, top up the brake fluid until you can get her fixed. But I recommend GET THE PROBLEM FIXED A.S.A.P.! In rare cases the brake pressure switch has failed causing the brake light to stay on.

I am not losing fluid at all. I topped it off before I brought it home from up north. The brakes worked great until I got to the cities. I checked the fluid level and it is still full. I was thinking maybe air in the lines, but I am not sure.

Very possible air/moisture is in the lines. The old pump the pedal 5 times should bleed the brake just fine w/ a friend of course. I almost crashed my truck, bleed all the wheels then at the drivers side air water came shooting out. Never had brake problems since.

yup - very likely.
the brake light switch is just a floating plunger, and if the front or rear has a larger enough air pocket - it will cause the switch to float to the other side, and set the switch
