No, I'm not talking about the one for the dash gauge.

I'm trying to replace the ECM coolant temp sensor.


I went to Advance Auto Parts, bought the sensor and

brought it home. When I un-screwed the old sensor

and tried to quickly put the new one in, I find that the

new one's threads are WAY too small. I take it back,

and that is the part that their computer calls for.

What gives? Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone

suggest where I CAN get one?

You have to take the adapter of the old one . kind of reducer from the block to the sensor .
Happened to me last summer .

Are you serious?

Dang it. Haha, I already returned it.

Did you just refill your coolant you lost or did you plug

the hole with something while you were taking the adapter off?

I had the same thing happen to me. I was scratching my head for a while until I asked the same question. Autozone carries new adapters if yours doesn't come off undamaged.
