I want to clean up the engine block ground (negative battery cable where it bolts to the block). It appears that the stud has a nut, then the terminal, then another nut, and since it's on the firewall side, moisture and heat have rusted them together. Is that stud holding down anything important, or can I simply disconnect the cable from the battery and unbolt the rusted assembly en masse?
