Does anyone know of any method to adjust valve lash without having to remove the upper and middle intake.
I figure it is a lost cause but it never hurts to ask.

i think i did mine with the mid and lower intake on.. i had to take off the top 1 cuz i had problems getting to a couple of the valve cover bolts..( crappy swivle socket). if i remeber corectly it was a pain in the behind to get the covers off and readjust my lash after i mest up the first time.... but im pretty positive i did it without removing the lower intakes... but that was a while ago and my memory is bad

I am not sure you can do it. I was able to get one valve cover off without removing any of the intakes, but the other one hung and would not come out. I had to remove the middle intake to get it out.

Short answer is no. The top and middle intakes have to come off. Sorry for the news. Now of course, I don't have the problem. I have a carb

i got my valve covers of without removing the middle intake... theres some wire harnesses that run under ur midle intake and they catch on the valve cover when u try to remove it.. so you just have play with the wire harness a little.... i adjusted all my valves with only the top intake off.. and its been running beautiful ever since... granted it is harder to do with the midlle intake on.. your hands will hurt trying to feel lash on the middle valves not much room to feel around... if your hands are a little bigger i dont know if it would work.. it also sucks trying to put your valve covers back on with the middle intake there but i did it..you can do it wich ever way you want im just stating you can do it with out remvoing middle intake but it takes longer and its more frusterating

Supposedly, you set the valve lash and then you turn the nut 2 1/2 times after that (yes, there's no torque spec). That's what the dealership told me.

Absolutely. 1.5 turns on valves that are broken in is way too much. Cut that in half. BTW, you will find that if your valves are too tight you have a definite power loss. You can also bend a push rod. If they are too loose it will just rattle.
