What is the best way to refinish the intake manifold? The factory red paint seems very durable. Any recommendations for paint? Thanks

I'd use Ford red engine paint, made for engine heat and found at most auto parts stores. Its a nice bright red.

One of our forum members electrathon, powder coats intakes and valve covers, does a nice job too. Not sure if he still does this but it may be worth a quick look. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/041681.html

It was some sort of epoxy paint, not powder. It is almost as durable as powder is. It is vey hard to strip off. There are a few pics of it being stripped in some of my posts. I use the clean cycle on my oven (please do not do this in the house). It takes hours to sandblast it all off. I used to offer a $20 discount if people wanted to strip their own, most worked on it for a few house and gave up.

Here is my current deal: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/042917.html
If you are interested I have a few sets currently done up (in ruby red) that can go out on Tuesday. As always, I offer to refund your money if you are not happy with my work.

I used "Dupli Color engine enamel Ford Red DE1605" and "Dupli Color Clear engine enamel". 2 coats of each "baked" under hot spotlites.

I used Chevy Red-Orange Duplicolor DE1607

Clean them well with cleaner and a scotch bright. Polished the fins and painted and then clear coated with Duplicolor clear.
All engine temp paint.
2 years on them so far and standing up well.
