In 1984 when the Fiero was intoduced,I had a 1 year old daughter, payments on a fairly new Benz, a GoldWing, A Bennelli Sei Motorcycle and a '67 GTO. I liked the looks and theory of the Fiero, but never shopped for one. Well, now that I have four of them ('85 SE, '85 GT, '86GT & '87GT) I wonder what they were selling for new. Can anyone give me a holler so I can learn what my Passsion would have cost me off the lot? Thanks to all...Bill

Whoa, This is the greatest turn off I have with the Fiero. I followed the Fiero from 1978 when it was a concept. In 1980 I did a High School paper on New Ideas featuring a New unnamed Pontiac, which did look different in the front and rear lights. In 1983 I went to buy my Fiero. The dealers were marking them up considerably. A $8500 Fiero cost $12500 At Ramsey Pontiac in Des Moines. It took $100 to put your name on a list to be offered the car at their price. I was to be # 104 I did have the chance to buy one at actual sticker.... They dropped it off the transport and twisted it so bad that all the sealant on the seams were cracked and it broke the rear window. I didn't buy one until 1992.

Jeez, I'm glad I waited to start my "Collection" shopping the local cow pastures. So far I have "invested" about $3500 for 4 cars. Two good bodies, one going in for smog this week, one dinged up runner that I picked up a replacement front end for free, and MY BABY the '86 GT that some dummy was too careless with such things as oil changes, or even looking at the dipstick, resulting in a beautifully polished car with a 2" hole in the block! Thanks Guys...Bill
P.S. $12,500 is about what I paid for the Benz AND the Gold Wing...BP

87GT, manual, no sunroof, no wing, ac: sticker price $13, 489 plus $1466 options, 320 dest charge, total amount was $15275. I paid new 07/09/88 $12750 plus doc fee 25, sales tax 830.38, license 240, total paid was $13845.38. Bought at Abel Chev/Pontiac/Buick Rio Vista Ca.
It was Valentines day 1984 when I first drove by the lot and she had just been rolled off the truck. I had looked at Fieros for a while (since first out of course) then when the Black ones first appeared I new that was it. The next day I Purchased her. My "new car"= that is what I still call her (besides other things). Anyway a sport coupe had a base sticker of 8499 (I think) vs the std coups of $7999. Then with the a few options, tax, tags, delivery etc I think I paid near full sticker or maybe $150 off allowance for my trade disposal. FINAL COST EXACTLY $10,000.00
Now the challenge is getting to my 25th. First post for me. So I would like to thank all that I have learned from thru the years that have helped me keeping her going.
Labor day weekend on Saturday 1986, I found my fiero at Sacramento. It was a 5 spd GT with sunroof and wing (although I didn't really want a wing at the time), suede seats (also didn;t want), all options except the subwoofer, electric rear window defrost, and the wheel locks (which I got). It listed for over $17,000 and I paid $16,000 and got the 4.8% financing. I too followed them from Road & Track in college and this was my first new car purchase. Still love it.
