Is this a direct swap, or does it take modification? What else is needed other than the gas tank and the 88 straps?

It will fit even easier if you have the straps from the 88 ,the is a little bigger but fits...I did it .

the rear strap is fine but you will need the front strap.

If it jams, force it....if it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

Thanx guys. I thought this was the case, but didn't want to get almost thru the job only to find out that the frame was different to accommodate the larger tank.
